We are one of the leading Thai rice bran oil manufacturers from Surin. Based in Northeastern Thailand, we have been in the rice industry since 1975. Northeastern Thailand is known for its rice farming heritage and wisdom. It is the origin of the most renowned rice including Surin Hom Mali Rice grown in Thung Kula Ronghai. For generations, we have accumulated knowledge and insight in rice processing, which have then become a part of our DNA. Our experience results in our meticulous raw material selection and proprietary manufacturing process.
We are proud of our local rice that owns unique and universally-accepted properties.
We always carefully select high quality Hom Mali rice from the famous Surin farmlands to ensure that the best raw materials are secured from its original sources. Our attention goes beyond normal standards into every step of the process to craft the rice bran oil that we are proud of.
Surin is a part of a unique rice growing region called Thung Kula Ronghai. This area is known for its low soil fertility with high alkalinity and arid climate. Despite the adverse growing conditions, this unique region produces the most fragrant Hom Mali rice with softer texture than rice grown in more fertile regions.
Hom Mali rice growing season usually starts in May after the rainwater accumulates enough for the rice plant to sprout.
By the time rainy season passes and the fields start to dry, Hom Mali rice plants start to flower. As the soil dries up and becomes more alkaline, rice plants respond to the stress by producing a natural fragrant substance* and store it in its grains.
* 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline
Jasmine rice has a distinct fragrance reminiscent of pandan-leaves and popcorn, which is the result of natural aromatic compounds of the rice plant. The key aromatic compound that produces these flavour notes is 2-acetyl-1-pyrroline (2AP).
Hom Mali rice grown in this region also has a lower amylose level,
making it softer and more pleasant to taste. Moreover, the Thung Kula Ronghai region is so famous for producing high quality Hom Mali rice that it has been registered as the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) with the European Union in 2010.
Because we care about the environment and the surrounding communities,
we have developed a water management system that turns wastewater into a nutrient-rich fertilizer and distribute it to local farmers free of charge. We ensure that the treated water quality exceeds the industrial standards and is safe to be used to grow crops. We also constructed a small demonstration farm consisting of a rice paddy and various plants that grow on our treated water to prove its safety and effectiveness. In addition, we also give away rice husk ashes (a common soil conditioning material) and other byproducts to the nearby communities to help improve crop yield. The local farmers who have received these fertilizing materials see positive impacts on their produce. To expand the positive impact to our community and beyond,
more environmental conservation projects are being developed further.
